Before the match.
- Place the candle on a flat, heat-safe surface.
- Keep it away from open windows, fans, curtains, books, and anything moving through the flame.
- Trim the wick to the length listed on the product label.
Watch the wax, not the clock.
Let the surface melt evenly towards the edge of the vessel.
The time differs by size, wax, wick, and room conditions. Follow the maximum burn time listed with the candle.
Put it out before leaving the room.
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Extinguish it before sleeping, leaving home, or moving it to another surface.
The next burn starts with the wick.
Once the wax is cool, trim the wick again.
Remove loose wick pieces, matches, and debris before relighting.
